Joseph Sivoli

FOUNDER/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

“Our Executive Director Joseph Sivoli is an empathic entrepreneur who specializes in IT, Human Resources, Operations, and may Accounting. He is a strong believer in a culture that allows for individuality in the workplace while maintaining a kind and compassionate view of clients and staff.   Ethical delivery of our services is his passion.  

On a more personal note, Joseph enjoys singing karaoke, fishing, and camping in his RV to refresh his spirit.”

Joemar Machin Torres

PRESIDENT

Joemar Machin Torres is a Puerto Rican gentleman who identifies as gay and has triumphed over childhood abuse. Drawing from his personal journey, Joemar advocates for the transformative power of mental health therapy. He attests that his therapeutic journey has significantly enhanced both his personal life and professional endeavors. Beyond his professional pursuits, Joemar harbors a deep-seated passion for culinary arts, investing time to refine his skills as a chef and eventually establishing his own empanadas business.

Tim Barnes

TREASURER

Tim Barnes is a Florida native and lives in Orlando with his partner Jon and their mini dachshund Oliver. He has a background in Accounting and has worked with other non-profit organizations. He is currently the Treasurer and a board member for Beacon Health. Tim see's and understands the great need for Beacon Health and its mission here in Orlando. Tim is passionate about the work already being done at Beacon Health and is looking forward to its many accomplishments.

Helen Adelt

I’m a retired manager and business analyst who fully supports Beacon’s mission. I am committed to providing whatever I can in time, talent and treasure to help ensure LGBTQ youth thrive in all aspects of their lives, especially those who have experienced trauma.

Kristopher Thompson

DIRECTOR OF VOLUNTEER SERVICES

 Kristopher Thompson serves as the Vice President of Operations at First Watch Strategies and Events, with over two decades of meeting and event management experience. He achieved his Bachelor’s in education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and a Master’s in Meeting and Event Management from San Diego State University.

Kristopher has worked on large-scale public events for employers including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and the American Automobile Association. Throughout his career, he has led projects ranging from Disney’s Christmas Day Parade Filming, Grand Opening of theme park areas, press events, political events, movie premiers and much more. Prior to joining First Watch Strategies and Events, he served as the Chief of Staff for the Director of Operations for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, overseeing and coordinating directives for transportation, emergency operations, safety, and security operations.

While at First Watch Strategies and Events, he was instrumental in bringing LGBTQ+ clients into their events portfolio. Pride festivals include Come Out With Pride, Inc. in Orlando, FL, Capital Pride, Inc. in Washington, DC, and WorldPride 2025, in Washington, DC.

Scott Latham

IT DIRECTOR

Scott has always shown his support to the LGBTQ+ community.  Currently the IT Director and a volunteer. Starting at an early age with search/rescue, EMT, Fire, and home health care, while pursuing his career in Aviation (BSAE, Pilot-retired) and is now a teacher in mathematics.  He has15+ years experience in sales, public relations, and management.  All his broad public interaction in the workplace and personal experience have shown him the importance of Therapy in the LGBTQ+ community.

Volunteering in fundraising organizations, HeadStart, impaired children/adults, and Senior health assistance.

Interests: Pilot, SCUBA, boat, camping/RV, motorcycle and many others over the years.

Stacy Perin

BOARD MEMBER

Stacy is an LCSW with a passion for being an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. She takes a trauma-informed, holistic, integrative approach in her work, which draws from using a variety of evidence-based treatment models. Her methods emphasize person-centered care and are adapted to best suit the individual needs of her clients. Stacy has extensive experience working with children and adults from a variety of backgrounds and she has a passion for empowering individuals through therapy. She believes that everyone can benefit from therapy, and that mental health is an essential component to overall health. Areas of her work with clients include anxiety, depression, coaching, partner/marriage and family relationship issues, work with the LGBTQ+ community, autism, and school-based challenges. The mind-body connection is a focus in her work with individuals who are navigating various mental health-related issues and life transitions. 

Prior to returning to her home state of Florida, Stacy was a member of the Governor’s Council on Behavioral Health Prevention Advisory Committee (PAC) in Rhode Island. She has run therapeutic school programs in Rhode Island for students with complex mental health needs and students in recovery. She has also conducted numerous training courses and webinars for educators in New England on topics that included Self-Care, Stress Management, the Societal Impact of the Covid Pandemic, and Behavior Management. Most recently, Stacy created a therapeutic counseling program for underserved children and families in Central Florida.
